Before the closing on your new home becomes official, do an inspection of the home so that you will be able to see any damage that is present. If you followed the proper steps, you will have included a clause in the contract of the house that says that the sale can be either nullified or postponed if there is significant damage done to the house. You also may have included a clause in the contract that states that the damaged aspects of the home would be repairs before you moved in. If you realize that this was not done, now is the time to speak up about it. Before the closing becomes official, have all of this taken care of or else you will have to pay for it in the future.
